Studio Hire Terms & conditions

Agreement

The Hirer is the person or party ultimately responsible for the payment of the hire fees set out in the invoice. The Hirer will be deemed to be aware of and have accepted these Studio Hire Terms & Conditions together with the hire fees upon any studio hire bookings and any studio items or equipment items hired at The Studio Melbourne. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to make themselves aware of these Studio Hire Terms & Conditions. Upon confirmation by The Studio Melbourne of a booking request and together with any accompanying Estimate or other commercial terms agreed between the parties, the Hirer agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions. The Hirer acknowledges and agrees that they are freely entering into a legally binding agreement with The Studio Melbourne.

Booking payment

You will receive an email confirming your booking once it has been added to our calendar.

Bookings need to paid in full prior to the studio hire. Invoice will be issued and once paid, will secure your booking.

Bond

A bond payment of $300 is taken at the time of booking for any bookings longer than 1 day. This amount is fully refundable if there has been no breakages or damages.

Cancellations

Cancellation of a confirmed booking less than 72 hours from the booking date (or no-shows) will result in an invoice for 100% of the issued invoice. 

Cancellation of a confirmed booking more than 72 hours from the booking date will result in an invoice for 50% of the invoice.

Cleaning

General cleaning is included in the studio hire rate

Studios should be left in the same condition they are found, if the studios are left in a messy condition a minimum $75 cleaning fee applies (if your booking is for more than two days, a $150 cleaning fee is compulsory).

*Cleaning fee applies to ALL functions - price based on how many people are on the guestlist.

Rubbish

We are a green studio and will accept 1 garbage bag of rubbish per booking, any more than that must be taken by the hirer.

The Hirer is responsible for the removal of any excess rubbish, cardboard, polystyrene or external props and sets, and for returning the space to the same condition that it was found in.

If the bins provided do not allow for excess rubbish then arrangements should be made to take it with you when the Hirer leaves the premises.

Exclusive use

If you would like to book the studio and require exclusive use of the space be it for confidentially reasons, sound recording etc please advise before booking. Although you will have exclusive use of the studio please be aware the studio melbourne is a business and will sometimes have staff on the premises. The common area, kitchen, and bathroom facilities are all shared areas.

Bump in and Bump out requirements

Your booking time includes all your bump in and bump out requirements which includes set up and pack up. Please ensure you book the right amount of time.

Ensure you arrive on time and are packed up and are ready to leave by your scheduled finish time.

The hirer is given a 30 minute grace period.

Any extra time required over your booking is charged at $100 per hour, pending availability.

Pricing

Entire studio - Use of whole space

Half day - $400 *Half day hours are from 8-1 OR 1-6pm

Full day - $700 *Full day hours are 8-6pm

White room - Includes white room, kitchen and access to bathrooms only.

Half day $300

Full day $500

Half day with Stylist and photographer $1400

Full day with Stylist and photographer $2400

NOTE - GST will be added on your invoice

Studio availability

Our studios are available to hire 7 days a week with flexible opening and closing times

Parking

The Studio Melbourne has three allocated car parks in front of the studio.

Hirers are welcome to park directly in our driveway for equipment loading and reloading only. Once equipment is loaded and unloaded we ask that you park your car in one of the allocated bays or on the street, which offers plenty of free parking.

WIFI

Wireless internet access is limited to general web browsing. Hirers are to refrain from downloading music, movies or restricted content.

Please ask The Studio Melbourne for the password.

Sub Hire

Sub hire, paid or unpaid and including lending, is expressly forbidden without the written consent of The Studio Melbourne.

Minors on Set

Any babies or children in the space must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to have all necessary child permits and required paperwork in place and approved prior to the date of hire.

Additional hours

Additional hours can be added to your booking by negotiation and are subject to availability. Additional hours can be purchased from $75 per hour.

Props, property, deliveries & collections

Prior to the Hirer’s booking, The Studio Melbourne must be notified of all deliveries and collections planned to and from The Studio Melbourne. Subject to studio availability and access (and volume of delivery), some deliveries can be made to The Studio Melbourne the day prior to the Hirer’s booking. Such deliveries must be pre-approved in writing in order for The Studio Melbourne to be able to accept the delivery. Otherwise, all deliveries are to be made on the day of the booking. All items must be removed from The Studio Melbourne at the conclusion of the Hirer’s booking and within the booking time. In some instances some items can be left behind for next day collection, however this must be approved in writing by The Studio Melbourne prior to the Hirer’s booking. The Hirer must ensure that all such items are insured. No Hirer related items held or stored on The Studio Melbourne premises are covered by any insurance whatsoever held by The Studio Melbourne. The Studio Melbourne reserves the right to dispose of any items left on the premises should the Hirer wish not to collect. A fee may be incurred for disposal; should this be required.

Damages & Loss

Use of our studio and our equipment is at HIRERS OWN RISK. Hirer hereby waives rights to seek legal redress for mishaps, accidents, and/or loss while on our premises.

Hirer agrees to leave the studio and adjacent grounds in the same condition as they were when Hirer arrived.

Hirer is solely responsible for any legal infraction Hirer or members of Hirer’s party make during the conduct of the shoot, be they in our studio or elsewhere. This includes parking tickets, all other violation or citations, and legal action resulting from the conduct of the shoot, taken at whatever time.

Hirer agrees to hold harmless The Studio Melbourne, its owner, agents, representatives, and contractors acting on its behalf for any loss, accident, or injury to Hirer’s self or anyone who accompanies Hirer while on our premises.

Hirer agrees to be solely responsible for the conduct and welfare of all persons accompanying Hirer while on our premises. Hirers are solely responsible for the safety and well-being of any models Hirer engages.

Hirer understands that if The Studio Melbournes staff observes dangerous, pornographic, or negligent practices or activities are being engaged in The Studio Melbourne reserves the right to stop the shoot and require the hirer and hirer’s party to leave immediately — HOWEVER, TheStudio Melbourne assumes NO RESPONSIBILITY to act in such cases.

Hirer agrees to hold The Studio Melbourne, its agents, representatives, and anyone acting on behalf of Hirer completely harmless from any action, legal or otherwise, that results from Hirer’s conduct. Hirers are solely responsible for verifying that all models employed during Hirer’s rental period are of legal age for the activities they are to be engaged in. The Studio Melbourne has no responsibility to determine or verify the age of participants in the Hirer’s activities but reserves the right to end those activities if it becomes aware that legal age violations are on-going.

Indemnity & Liability

The Studio Melbourne has insured the studio premises and their own equipment against all normal insurable risks but not further or otherwise. The Hirer is responsible for insuring their own equipment and personal property and that belonging to their clients, assistants, associated personnel and other third-party individuals.

The Hirer agrees to indemnify The Studio Melbourne against any costs including legal costs, damages, payments, fines, or interests The Studio Melbourne may incur as a result of the Hirer breaching this agreement.

The Studio Melbourne is not liable for acts out of its control that affect the shoot, such as power outages, weather or emergencies. In such cases, The Studio Melbourne may refund a prorata portion of Hirer’s payment and/or reschedule the studio booking.

The Studio Melbourne reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time with or without notice if the Hirer has breached any terms of this agreement or for unforeseeable circumstances that prevent Hirer from fulfilling the agreement.

*The Hirer acknowledges and agrees the above terms and conditions have been read, understood and with this signature agreed upon with The Studio Melbourne.
